    A very pleasant and scenic modernist style coastal landscape painting, executed in oil onto canvas and dated 1950.

    This picturesque composition presents houses surrounded by lush trees, with a beautiful sea view in the background.

    Working with a modernist ethos in mind, the artist has intentionally chosen not to focus on realistic details, and instead explores the use of colours, brushstrokes and form to create a sense of depth and space.

    Painterly brushstrokes and a very soothing colour palette comprising muted shades of green, blue, and orange have been used, wonderfully capturing the uplifting spirit of this scene.

    This oil on board is housed in a stunning wide profile wood frame with multiple borders. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has very minor scuffing, but nothing that detracts from its overall appearance.

    A lively and enchanting mid-century composition in oil, painted by Swedish artist Uno Vallman (1913-2004) whose works are included in the Swedish National Museum and The Swedish Modern Museum, to name a few. His works are also included in the collections of Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, and the Tessin Institute in Paris.

    In this enchanting scene, two figures dressed in white are depicted enjoying a merry moment in a garden bursting with the vibrant hues of autumn. The lush trees and abundant flowers create a lively atmosphere.

    Containing elements of fauvism and expressionism, this striking painting emphasises rich colours and decorative pattern.

    The artist has used a vibrant palette including shades of green, red and orange, while distinct, energetic brushstrokes infuse the work with a dynamic as well as a textural quality.

    This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary wide-profiled gilt frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some scuffing at its edges.
