The composition showcases a frozen river that leads the viewer’s eye into the distance, bordered by trees with reddish-brown foliage and small cabins in the background that are partially obscured by snow.

Semi-abstract in nature, all realistic details have been omitted and there is a strong focus on colour and expressive brushwork.

The artist has used a muted and cool colour palette dominated by blues and greys, capturing the chilly atmosphere of winter. The brushstrokes are bold and visible, adding vitality to the stillness of the snowy scene.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary wood frame with an inner red window. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
