  • Moonlit Pears

    Moonlit Pears

A brilliantly executed and characterful surrealist still life composition, executed in tempera on board and dated 1980, by the established Swedish artist Eric Cederberg (1897-1984), whose artworks have been represented in several public and museum collections across Sweden.

The central focus of the composition is a bold and vibrant selection of red pears, a yellow bowl, and a cluster of purple grape that have been thoughtfully arranged. Through the digital editing process Olivia is able to have greater control over the specific colours and textures, emphasising the textural quality of the ink, increasing the scale and saturating the colours.

The coloured perspex frames reflect the playful approach Olivia takes when creating each piece. Everything she does is completely unique and different every time.

    Etruscan Horse

    Sold

    SOLD

A beautifully crafted Etruscan horse sculpture, handmade in patinated bronze.

This bronze sculpture is a minimalist and abstract representation of a figure riding a two-wheeled chariot pulled by a stylized horse. The rider has an elongated, simplified human form with minimal facial features. One arm is raised, holding what appears to be a small object, while the other arm extends forward to hold the reins. The figure wears a headpiece or helmet, giving it an ancient or warrior-like appearance.

The horse is depicted in a highly stylized and geometric form. Its head is elongated and curves downward, and it has a pronounced, comb-like mane extending over the head and neck. The horse’s body is reduced to essential shapes, with slender, angular legs suggesting movement.

    SOLD

An intimate and expressive mid-century figurative composition, executed in oil onto board.

The artworks depicts a seated figure working at an easel, engaged in the act of painting.

The colour palette is muted, dominated by soft blues, green and grey, and with warmer tones like orange. These colours harmonise wonderfully together and instil a soothing quality to the piece.

  • The Pink Umbrella

    The Pink Umbrella

    Sold

    SOLD

A enchanting and vibrant mid-century modernist landscape composition that combines elements of fauvism and abstraction, painted in oil onto board.

The setting appears to be a dreamlike outdoor landscape, where a female figure in a flowing blue dress holding a pink umbrella is the focal point. Within the landscape, we can spot some houses and monuments, as well as a shadowy, ambiguous figure on the left, adding intrigue to the scene.

Exhibiting elements of fauvism, the artist has used bold and vibrant colours to evoke mood and atmosphere. A striking palette of non-naturalistic colours such as the vivid pinks, blues, and yellows, have been used, imbuing the scene with vibrancy.

The brushstrokes are loose and expressive, emphasising energy and movement. Although they appear unrestrained, they are thoughtful and precise.

This oil on board is housed in a very well-suited mid-century frame. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.

    Size: 66 x 58.5 cm (including frame)

  • Walking by the Canal

    Walking by the Canal

    Sold

    SOLD

A very well executed modernist landscape composition, painted in oil onto canvas and dated 1973.

This painting depicts a serene, tree-lined canal scene in an impressionistic style. A narrow canal runs diagonally from the foreground into the distance, bordered by stone embankments. Tall, leafless trees line both sides of the canal, suggesting a late autumn or winter setting. The branches stretch upward, creating an intricate network of lines against the sky.

On the right path, a woman in a red or pink coat is holding the hand of a small child dressed in pale colours. The figures are simply rendered, focusing more on form and colour than on detail, evoking a peaceful, everyday moment.

This artwork beautifully captures a quiet, reflective moment in an urban setting, blending natural and man-made elements. The simplicity of forms and the soft colour palette convey a sense of calm and nostalgia, highlighting the peaceful coexistence of people and nature.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary gilt frame. The painting has a very tiny area of paint loss to the upper middle section as shown in the close up. There is some minor scuffing to the frame.

    Size: 58 x 69 cm (including frame)
