This is a digital monoprint (only one exists, it is original and one-of-a-kind) of a scanned in monoprint, which was digitally edited and manipulated. Through the digital editing process Olivia is able to have greater control over the specific colours and textures, emphasising the textural quality of the ink, increasing the scale and saturating the colours.
The light qualities of the perspex frame (a frosted yellow back panel and a tinted clear yellow front) work with the colours within the piece, making the image seem different in every lighting condition. The coloured perspex frames reflect the playful approach Olivia takes when creating each piece. Everything she does is completely unique and different every time.
This composition explores juxtapositions, both formally and conceptually, between two different environments – the urban city and the rural countryside. The straight and angled lines allude to the urban cityscape, while the curved and more organic forms are remiscnent of the rolling countryside. A enchanting and vibrant mid-century modernist landscape composition that combines elements of fauvism and abstraction, painted in oil onto board.
The setting appears to be a dreamlike outdoor landscape, where a female figure in a flowing blue dress holding a pink umbrella is the focal point. Within the landscape, we can spot some houses and monuments, as well as a shadowy, ambiguous figure on the left, adding intrigue to the scene.

A very well executed modernist landscape composition, painted in oil onto canvas and dated 1973.
