Taking a semi-abstract approach, the forms are not realistic but are simplified, with a focus on the interplay of colour and brushstrokes.

The colour palette is muted yet lively, featuring soft greens, subdued yellows and orange, light pinks, and touches of blue and white that harmonise wonderfully together.

The composition is a masterful display of the artist’s ability to layer contrasting shades through the use of short and expressive brushstrokes,  contributing to a sense of texture, depth, as well as visual interest.

This oil on board is housed in a very well-suited wood frame with an inner gilt window. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
