A very pleasant mid-century modernist style still life composition, painted in oil onto board and dated 1953.

Inviting viewers to appreciate the beauty of simple, everyday objects, the composition features a mix of fruits, including green pears, an apple, two dark purple plums, and a kiwi. The background is minimal, with soft, earthy beige and warm tones that allow the colours of the fruits to stand out.

The use of expressive brushstrokes brings an energetic yet serene feel to the overall composition. The colours are muted yet vibrant, with each fruit featuring a blend of hues that adds depth and light texture.
