The painting presents red houses as well as a church sprawled across a lush landscape setting.

Painted with a modernist ethos and with expressive brushwork, the artist has skilfully deconstructed the scene down to distinct blocks of contrasting colours.

An array of muted pastel shades including greens, orange, red, and purples have been used, imbuing the painting with an uplifting feel.

Furthermore, by leaving areas of the canvas exposed, the artist’s creative use of negative space accentuates the shapes of the objects, drawing our attention to their distinct form.

This oil on canvas has been laid onto board is housed in a beautiful wood frame with visible grains. The painting has some wear to the upper edge of the canvas surface but it is stable. The frame has slight widening to its corner joins.
