The composition captures a figure seated on a chair, engrossed in reading by a window. Against an abstracted blue backdrop, light pours in from the window, casting a luminous glow as well as highlights on the figure.

Semi-abstract in nature, all realistic details have been intentionally left out, focusing our attention instead on colour and brushwork.

The brushwork is characterised by its highly expressive, swift, and unrestrained style, imbuing the painting with a sense of dynamic motion and emotional depth. The colour palette is deliberately limited, predominantly featuring shades of blue with hints of green, yellow, and white, creating a vibrant visual experience.

This oil on canvas is housed in a beautiful sage green frame with an inner gold border. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
