Featuring a red candlestick as its focal point, the painting also includes a jug, a dish with a pipe, green fruits, books, and a blue box, all arranged on a table and set against a greenish-blue backdrop.
Containing elements of post-impressionism, the painting is characterised by rich colours as well as loose and distinctive brushwork.
The colour palette is rich and vibrant, creating a visually stimulating atmosphere. The use of expressive brushstrokes, combined with a lightly textured surface, contribute to the painting’s dynamic and emotive quality.
This oil on board is housed in beautiful distressed style wood frame that is very thick and heavy, and that complements the painting very well. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
