A small and engaging mid-century animal composition painted in a naïve style, executed in oil onto board.

The composition focuses on an English Longhorn bull standing on a light green landscape.

The bull’s body is painted in black and white, displaying the markings of the animal, including a distinctive black cuff around its fore leg. It has the characteristic sweeping horns that curve down to its nose, as well as the white line along its back.

The brushwork is visible, and appears smooth and deliberate,  and the colour palette features muted earthy tones.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary black frame. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition
