A bright and playful mid century abstract modernist oil, painted onto canvas board.
Although mostly abstract in nature, this lively modernist oil features some discernible figures and faces. Geometric forms in a myriad of shapes of colour seem to emerge from a black and pink background, providing an array of interesting details to explore. The shapes and forms seem to dance on the surface, creating an invisible tension and rhythm between them. As a viewer, our eyes are encourages to move across and around the surface, taking in the details as we go and identifying recognisable figures and objects, almost as though it were a puzzle to be solved.
This oil on canvas board is housed in a complementary black floater frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has very minor scuffs.
