A very fun and playful mid-century composition in oil, painted by Swedish artist Uno Vallman (1913-2004) whose works are included in the Swedish National Museum and The Swedish Modern Museum, to name a few. His works are also included in the collections of Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter, and the Tessin Institute in Paris.

Containing elements of fauvism and expressionism,  this striking painting presents a bustling scene at the beach, filled with lots of people engaging in various activities on the sandy shore.

An array of rich and uplifting colours as well as distinct energetic and intuitive brushstrokes fill the canvas, imbuing the work with a sense of dynamism. The artist has also used black outlines that provide a sketch-like quality that emphasises the silhouettes of the figures.

This oil on canvas is is housed in a robust gilt frame with multiple profiles.  The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has very minor scuffs.
