A fun and striking mid century modernist still life painting, executed in oil onto board.

Featuring a rich colour palette as well as bold, expressive brushwork, this still life painting captures a dining setting of a freshly served fish, 2 wine glasses and a bottle in a Naïve style. There is a shift away from traditional perspective and a focus on formal elements like shape, line and colour. It is reminiscent of the St Ives artists who worked under a similar ethos inspired by the landscape of West Cornwall and used its shapes, forms and colours as a source for much of their work.

This oil on board is simply framed, and is in good vintage condition.
