Reminiscent of the Modern British artist Mary Fedden (1915-2012), this painting also features a playful delight in the particularities of everyday objects, from stripes and checkers, to flattened perspective as well as bold use of colour. It elevates the beauty and particularity of everyday objects including pears, cherries and pansies, and imbues them with significance and character.
This oil on board is housed in a very well-suited wood frame. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
