A wonderfully detailed modernist composition of  an interior, painted in oil onto canvas and dated 1975.

This charming narrative painting features an array of details for us to explore, from the patterns of the rugs and walls to the objects and clothes. To the left we have a man on a rocking chair with his pipe, and in front of him are  a little dog and cat.  To the right a woman is preparing a kettle on the stove. Behind her is an open door, giving us a glimpse into the next room and beckoning us in to explore further. The painting has been executed in rich and vivid colours, imbuing it with a joyous and uplifting feel.  The wonderful array of details make it such an enjoyable piece to slowly take in and explore.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary dark wood frame with an inner gilt border. Both the painting  and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
