A fun and edgy one-off original monoprint presented in a coloured frame, by British artist Olivia Bouzyk.

This monoprint is created from two individual stencils, layered to create a dynamic interaction of line, form and colour. Where the shapes overlap, the rich, oil-based inks merge to produce unique hues, adding depth and vibrancy. Variations in the transparency and thickness of ink contribute texture, enhancing the layered conversation between the materials and the composition’s visual elements.

This composition explores juxtapositions, both formally and conceptually, between two different environments – the urban city and the rural countryside. The straight and angled lines allude to the urban cityscape, while the curved and more organic forms are remiscnent of the rolling countryside.  Olivia works with contrasts in line, colour and form and a sense of harmony is achieved by balancing this series of juxtapositions.

This monoprint is housed in a vivid yellow frame that further enhances the artwork within. Both frame and artwork are in excellent condition.

A fun and edgy one-off original monoprint presented in a coloured frame, by British artist Olivia Bouzyk.

This monoprint is created from three stencils layered on top of one another, each in a different colour and of different forms. When examined closely, there is a lovely complexity to the artwork as the thickness of the ink of the final layer (dark blue) almost has a three dimensional quality, yet it is more transparent compared to the green opaque layer beneath. The mixture of the curved and straight lines accentuate one another through their contrasts.

A fun and edgy one-off original digitally manipulated monoprint sandwiched between a custom perspex frame, by British artist Olivia Bouzyk.

This is a digital monoprint (only one exists, it is original and one-of-a-kind) of a scanned in monoprint, which was digitally edited and manipulated. Through the digital editing process Olivia is able to have greater control over the specific colours and textures, emphasising the textural quality of the ink, increasing the scale and saturating the colours, creating a more dynamic dialogue between the lines, forms and colours.

The light qualities of the perspex frame (a frosted a frosted orange back panel and a tinted blue front) work with the colours within the piece, making the image seem different in every lighting condition. The coloured perspex frames reflect the playful approach Olivia takes when creating each piece. Everything she does is completely unique and different every time.

A brilliantly executed semi-abstract modernist oil composition, painted in 1974 by the established Swedish artist Ivar Morsing (1919-2009), whose works have been exhibited in public collections including the National Museum in Stockholm, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Kalmar Museum and Jönköping Museum.

Small yet impactful in its composition, the painting draws our attention to two figures with golf bags, set amidst a sprawling golf course with lush greenery. The artist’s deliberate omission of detailed features encourages viewers to focus on the overall atmospheric ambiance as opposed to their individual characteristics.

Painted in a semi-abstract style, there is a strong focus on expressive and textured brushstrokes, as well as rich colours. The use of painterly and dynamic brushstrokes create a sense of energy and movement throughout the painting, and the clever use of a rich colour palette dominated by various shades of greens and yellow with hints of blue helps to unify the composition and emphasise the beauty and lushness of the natural surroundings.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary slim gilt frame with red undertones. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has minor scuffs.

    SOLD

A bright and playful semi abstract painting, presented within a card mount and a wood frame, and framed behind glass.

The painting is titled ‘Coup de Foudre’, which translates to ‘thunderbolt’ or a ‘lightning strike’ in English. In this case it also refers to the sudden unforeseen event of ‘love at first sight’. In the composition we see two circles merging into one another, with a lighting bolt across the top of them. The artist has used the contrasting colours of red, blue and white, creating this striking modernist interpretation of a fateful meeting between two souls.

The painting and frame are in very good condition. Please note that there is some glare and reflection in the photos due to the presence of the glass.

    SOLD

An emotive and striking mid-century abstract oil composition by Swedish painter Hans Osswald (1919-1983), whose works have been exhibited at the National Museum in Stockholm, Malmö Museum as well as The Brooklyn Museum.

The painting features a striking arrangement of rich and earthy colours and dynamic shapes.

A large black shape occupies the left, transitioning into warm orange followed by olive green to the right. The respective shapes have been divided by irregular lines.

Created with a masterful technique, the artist has skilfully employed broad gestural brushstrokes, applying layers of colours to build up texture and dimension to the work. The brushwork is confident and expressive, with visible strokes that give the artwork a lightly textured quality.

This oil on board is accentuated by a very dark wood frame with an outer and inner gold border. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has a slight scuff to its lower right corner of its inner border.
