A seemingly simple yet very effective oil painting that explores the concepts of minimalism and abstraction, executed in oil onto canvas.

The artwork depicts a group of sheep situated in what we can discern to be a snow-filled landscape setting, where all forms presented are spontaneously outlined in thin black lines.

Upon first glance, this work may be recognised for its childlike simplicity. However as we take time to explore the painting further, we notice that the artist has thoughtfully chosen to eliminate non essentials – focusing our attention to the beautiful essence of colour, unrestrained brushwork, as well as the qualities of lines that may come across as simplistic but inherently powerful enough to give rise to forms.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary slim gilt frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has minor scuffs but this does not detract from the overall appearance.
