A large and panoramic mid century modernist composition in oil, painted onto canvas.
A group of cottages with walnut brown roofs line the landscape, set amidst a rural landscape in rich and deep autumnal colours.
A range of expressionist brushstrokes in varying tones of orange, brown and black create a wonderful sense of depth and texture, and finer detailing of spots of red and yellow give the painting an intricate quality, encourage our eyes to focus our attention on the painting and study the details of what is before us. As we study the painting, we begin to notice finer details such as a pond, fence posts, and possibly a bridge.
This large oil on canvas is housed in a wide profile frame with linen border and silver and black detail. The frame has some slight wear commensurate with age. Otherwise, both the painting and frame are in very good vintage condition. Please note that some glare is evident in the photographs.

A captivating mid-century modernist landscape composition, executed in oil by the established Swedish artist Ture Fabiansson (1910-1994), whose works have been exhibited in public collections including the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, The Museum of Art in Gothenburg, Jönköping Museum, Borås Art Museum, and many others.
The composition features a cow in a landscape setting amidst trees. Executed in a semi-abstract manner, the artist has skillfully simplified and reduced the composition into varying shapes of contrasting colours, enhancing the modernist style of the painting.
Emphasizing the interplay of shapes and colours, we can discern trees in geometric shapes of green and purple, and the pasture landscape in brown and mustard yellow.
Flat brushstrokes and the use of a muted colour palette featuring earthy tones and subdued shades blend harmoniously together, creating a refreshing yet relaxing feel to the painting.
This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary gilt frame with red undertones. There is some light scuffing to the frame, but the appearance is still very good. The painting is in excellent vintage condition.
