A large and richly coloured coastal landscape composition, executed in oil onto canvas.
This striking composition presents a scenic view of red huts lining a coast. In the foreground, a man in blue is walking through a small passageway, and a landscape scene of rock cliffs line the opposite side of the coast in the background of the painting.
The artist has skilfully left areas of the canvas exposed, using negative space to his advantage, and the combination of rich and uplifting colours as well as expressive brushstrokes wonderfully captures the liveliness of the setting.
This oil on canvas is housed in a beautiful wood frame with visible grain and with an inner gilt window. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some minor scuffing.
