The painting presents a long bridge ascending through a lush hilly landscape setting. A group of figures in white clothing and red hats and depicted crossing the bridge and admiring the scenic view before them.

Painted in an expressionist manner, this market scene features broad and distinct brushstrokes, giving this piece a very painterly effect.
