Four Apples

SOLD
A very pleasant modernist still life oil composition dated 1974, and painted by the established Swedish artist Ture Fabiansson (1910-1994), whose works have been exhibited in public collections including the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, The Museum of Art in Gothenburg, Jönköping Museum, Borås Art Museum, and many others.
Featuring 4 luscious apples arranged on a green clothed surface and contrasted against a patterned backdrop, the painting invites viewers to appreciate the beauty of simple, everyday objects. It embodies the essence of a modernist style and we can see influences by post-impressionist French artist Paul Cezanne.
The apples and their surroundings have been rendered with a combination of expressive and loose brushstrokes, capturing their roundness and beauty, and the gentle colour palette imbues the work with a soothing quality.
This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary light grey painted frame. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
Size: 31.5 x 43.5 cm (including frame)
