A brilliantly executed abstract figurative oil composition painted by the established Swedish artist Ivar Morsing (1919-2009), whose works have been exhibited in public collections including the National Museum in Stockholm, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Kalmar Museum, and Jönköping Museum.

In this small yet impactful abstracted composition, we can discern a lone figure sitting by a coastal shoreline at sunset, with the sky ablaze in yellow.

The scene is bathed in a restrained palette of rich yellows and muted greens, an emotive and nostalgic atmosphere. The artist employs expressive strokes as well as small swirls of paint, imbuing the artwork with a sense of movement and dynamism.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary wide profile gilt frame that suits it very well. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
