Bottle and Jars

An uplifting mid-century modernist still-life composition, executed in oil onto board.
The composition depicts everyday objects including bottles and jars arranaged on a tabletop. The artist reduces these items to simplified geometric forms, creating an abstracted and fragmented representation of a still life.
A muted yet vibrant palette of pastels colours have been used. Soft pinks, creams, and whites provide a background, while blues, greens, reds, and yellows punctuate the composition, bringing a wonderful contrast.
The brushstrokes are loose and lightly textured, with visible layering that enhances the visual interest of the painting.
This oil on board is housed in a complementary wood frame with an inner linen lining. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
Size: 61 x 78 cm (including frame)
