    This picturesque scene presents a cluster of houses situated on a hilltop, surrounded by shrubs and a white wall. In the foreground of the painting, we can see 2 figures, seemingly in conversation.

    The artist has used a combination of rich and uplifting colours as well as painterly textured brushstrokes to evoke tactility as well as wonderfully capture the liveliness of this neighbourhood.

    This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary gilt frame with red undertones. The frame has some small losses which have been painted over in gold, as shown in close ups. The painting is in excellent vintage condition.

    Here the artist has played with colour, form and texture. A row of houses have been reduced to flat coloured shapes. Using a soothing colour palette, layers of paint have been applied to the canvas to create a textural effect that certainly adds depth and interest to the painting.

    The painting is housed in a simple wood frame that suits its style. There is slight paint loss and a mark at the top right of the painting, but both painting and frame are in good vintage condition overall.
