A subdued and nostalgic mid-century modernist style architectural landscape composition, painted in oil onto canvas.

The painting presents a townscape with a group of buildings. Executed in a modernist, semi-abstract style, the artist has skilfully simplified the architecture into geometric shapes, deconstructing the buildings into angular planes and overlapping forms.

A restrained and muted colour palette that includes shades of greys, beige, and cream have been used. These colours enhance the tranquil yet structured atmosphere. There are hints of deep green at the lower portion, possibly representing foliage. Darker outlines subtly emphasise structure, while the layering of forms creates depth.

The brushstrokes are expressive yet controlled, with visible texture that add a light tactile quality and a sense of rawness.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary wood frame. The painting has light craquelure present but this is commensurate with age and the paint layer is very stable overall. The frame has some minor scuffing.
