A brilliantly executed mid-century modernist landscape that reimagines a wooded scene through the lens of abstraction and cubism, painted in oil onto canvas.

The painting depicts a stand of slender trees rising before a distant hillside, their forms fractured into geometric planes and rhythmic verticals. At the composition’s heart, a dark evergreen anchors the scene – its deep green tones contrasting against the softer mosaic of browns, blues, and muted mauves that fill the surrounding terrain.

Below, an elderly man dressed in a dark green overcoat and cap leans gently on his cane as he walks along a quiet path, evoking a tender sense of solitude and reflection.

Rendered in a restrained, minimalist style, the artist has employed loose, confident brushstrokes and a limited, harmonious palette of muted blues and earthy browns.
