A brilliantly executed abstract figurative oil composition painted by the established Swedish artist Ivar Morsing (1919-2009), whose works have been exhibited in public collections including the National Museum in Stockholm, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Kalmar Museum, and Jönköping Museum.

Small yet impactful in its composition, the painting features a group of figures rendered in a simplified and indistinct manner, suggesting movement or interaction in a serene, almost dreamlike environment.

Abstract in nature, the figures are obscured, and their forms are perceptible only through carefully applied brushstrokes and contrasting colours which hint at their structure.

The muted palette is dominated by soft tones of beige, cream, and light blue, accented by darker shades of black. These colours create a harmonious and calming composition while adding a sense of warmth and nostalgia.

The brushstrokes are textured and expressive, applied with a sense of spontaneity and emotion.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary gilt frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has very minor scuffs.
