The composition features a mini seascape, using a rich Prussian blue against handmade papers and finished with gold. Dancing Waves is a small monotype, exploring how the process of monotype and particularly the removing and layering of ink can form semi recognisable seascapes. Although not based on a specific place, the movement of the ink makes this imaginary seascape remind you of dancing waves. This monotype is 1/1 , making it entirely unique.

Frances Daws is a British Artist working in the Southwest of England. Primarily a painter she also works within printmaking. Having lived by the English coastline and now residing within the countryside her work is often formed by ‘colour journeys’ a form of mapping the landscape through the emotive language of colour.

  • Geometric Collage in Raw Umber

    Geometric Collage in Raw Umber

    Sold

    SOLD

A very unique original artwork by British artist Dave Boyd, constructed from discarded books (repurposed cloth covers, papers, cardboard, binding boards) mounted on a wooden panel in a solid wood float frame.

The background is composed of a richly textured, raw umber surface made from aged book cloth, divided horizontally at its midpoint, enhancing the piece’s sense of structure and symmetry. The material bears the worn, mottled patina of time, evoking a tactile warmth and nostalgic depth.

Centrally placed is a vertical arrangement of nine small rectangles, each made from a different swatch of book cloth. These blocks vary in hue—soft blues, warm reds, ochres, deep burgundy, and neutral beige—and are carefully aligned to form a grid-like column. Their tight geometry contrasts with the organic wear of the background, creating visual tension and balance.

The artwork is presented in wood frame that suits it very well. It has been constructed with professional grade adhesive and is shipped with robust fixings, ready to hang, Both artwork and frame are in excellent condition.

Dave’s artistic practice focuses on the juxtaposition between the manmade and the natural and the human experience of geometric forms, surfaces and materials. Paintings and collages often embody a built or constructed aesthetic and are strongly influenced by architecture and the built environment, with the aim of suggesting visual encounters with structures and landscapes. • Golden Reflections

    Golden Reflections

    Sold

    SOLD

A small and vibrant mid-century modernist landscape that captures an abstracted  luminous autumnal forest scene mirrored in a calm stream, executed in oil onto canvas.

Stylised trees with simplified, angular trunks and bold, abstracted foliage dominate the composition, their leaves rendered in rich tones of orange, golden yellow, and muted olive green. Patches of soft blue peek through the canopy and reflect below, providing contrast and a sense of depth.

Painted in expressive, confident brushstrokes, the work reflects the artist’s modernist approach -favouring form and feeling over strict realism. The palette is warm and harmonious, evoking the quiet radiance of a sunlit woodland in early fall. The broken brushwork and visible texture of the canvas lend movement and immediacy to the scene, pulling the viewer into a fleeting, golden moment in nature.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary wood frame. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.

    SOLD

A small and engaging portrait composition, painted in a naïve style in oil onto panel, by British artist Matt Rix.

This painting features a  white cat sitting gracefully against a simple, flat background of earthy brown and muted green. The cat is the central figure, depicted in a front-facing pose with its body in profile and head turned toward the viewer. Its curled tail is tucked neatly around its body, adding a sense of balance and symmetry. The cat’s facial features are minimal but expressive, with light blue eyes, a small pink nose, and faint whiskers.

The painting exudes a quiet elegance and calm, capturing the essence of a cat’s poised demeanor with minimalist charm. Its simplicity and balance make it visually striking and emotionally soothing.

This oil on board is housed in a simple black wood frame which suits it perfectly. The painting is in excellent condition. The frame has some light marks but is in very good condition overall.

British artist Matt Rix spent his childhood in South Africa and now lives with his family on a small holding in rural North Wales. His paintings are uncomplicated, modernist representations influenced by primitive and naïve folk art from times past. Many of the subjects Rix paints are inspired by the animals he sees from day to day. Rix uses recycled materials including discarded paints, boards, frames and backing paper. Much of his work is therefore produced using waste materials resulting in sustainable paintings that evoke a time-worn, nostalgic essence.

  • Twilight Flowers

    Twilight Flowers

    Sold

    SOLD

A small and visually impactful semi-abstract composition in oil, painted by British artist Lloyd Durling,

The surface is thick with textured impasto, giving the work a tactile, almost sculptural presence. The composition is divided into vivid colour blocks—warm corals, sunny yellows, soft aquas, and hints of mint—intersected by expressive black and blue marks that suggest floral forms.

Lloyd’s use of thick paint application invites a physical response—you can almost feel the surface just by looking at it. This rich texture adds depth and dynamism, engaging the senses beyond the visual.

The loosely defined forms gives us viewers just enough to begin imagining flowers or figures without being literal. Its small size encourages close, personal viewing. It feels like a private experience—something to be studied and absorbed in a quiet moment. A perfect example of how small artworks can carry a big impact.

This impasto painting is mounted a dark stained oak frame. Both painting and frame are in excellent condition.

Lloyd is based in London and his practice is painting-based. His first international solo show was in 2010 at Golden in Chicago and he has exhibited widely throughout Europe, Asia and the US. In 2017 he was awarded a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant. Lloyd’s works are held in public and private collections worldwide, including the Whitworth Art Gallery and Museum, Progressive collection, America and Nomura Bank, Japan.
