An serene modernist painting that captures the essence of a landscape through minimalist abstraction, executed in oil onto canvas and dated 1987.
The composition depicts two geometric structures flanking a trio of loosely rendered trees, all set within a flattened expanse of pale blue-green fields under a softly muted sky.
The artist has reduced natural and architectural forms to bold, simplified shapes, evoking a sense of stillness and isolation. Hazy blue trees blur gently into the distance, adding softness to the otherwise rectilinear forms.
The palette is cool and restrained, dominated by subdued blues and greens. Brushstrokes are confident yet soft-edged, with subtle feathering along the tops of the forms, suggesting quiet movement and the blending of earth and sky.
This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary dark wood frame with an inner linen border. The painting is in excellent vintage condition. The frame has some scuffing and marks at its edges. Â
Size: 48 x 63 cm (including frame)
