A beautifully ambient and soothing modernist landscape composition, painted in oil onto canvas.

Featuring a rich colour palette in cool as well as earthy tones, the composition depicts a view of a farmhouse in a landscape setting. To the left of the composition, a tree stands tall in the foreground, giving the painting a sense of balance.

 A wonderful morning light settles on the farmhouse, creating a soft glow particularly across the middle of the painting. The artist has captured the qualities of the light so effectively, using expressive and fluid brushstrokes that lend texture and depth to the work. The transition of colours in the painting is gentle and soothing – from the soft blue-ish grey sky, to the rustic colours of the farmhouse, followed by the darker shades of the landscape and pond in the foreground.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary silver frame with an inner linen border. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some scuffs and marks.
