An excellently executed 20th century landscape artwork depicting a house tucked behind a stone wall, partially hidden by lush greenery and set against a clear blue sky.
In this work, the artist has skillfully used blocks of colours in contrasting shades to give rise to the various forms as such the trees and stone wall; and the selection of more than 8 different hues of vibrant green imbues the work with so much freshness.
With the use of visible painterly brushstrokes, one is able to get a sense of the natural beauty and rough nature of the limestone wall; and through the use of expressive brushstrokes executed in a diagonal manner to paint the greenery, one can get a sense of movement and freedom in this work, of the strong wind blowing in the air, causing the leaves to sway.
The work comes well-presented in a thin champagne gold frame, and is in excellent vintage condition.

With its sandy desert tones and visually pleasing composition, this small painting has a wonderful mellowness to it. This scene of one of the White Villages in Spain shows off the region’s old white lime walls and brown tiled roofs. In this region the climate is known to be mild, and the tones and hues used in this painting capture that mildness of this quiet village perfectly. To add interest, the artist has included a donkey cart and driver strolling casually along, about to make their way back into the village after a long day’s work.
This wonderful piece in oil is by Swedish artist Hans-Erik Öberg, painted in 1963. It is housed in a very well suited wood frame with a linen slip. The painting is in excellent condition, and there are minor scuffs to the frame.

This captivating still life in oil depicting tulips in a vase features bold colours, strong outlines, and lots of texture. Thick, creamy layers of oil paint have been applied generously by the artist, giving this painting a real tactility. Painted on a long vertical canvas with a very well balanced composition, our eyes are led from top to bottom. At first glace we notice the 6 upright blooms, but then our eyes are drawn downwards toward the one wilting flower, its soft stem forming a curved line that contrasts with the straighter angles of the other tulips and their leaves. The horseshoe reflection on the vase lead us down to the single pear that sits on the table – the final punctuation in this wonderfully compositioned piece.
This original oil was painted in 1959. It is housed in a deep gilt frame with an inner moulding that is stained green and highlights the painting perfectly. There is a slight widening to the top right joint of the frame, but otherwise the painting and frame are in very good condition.

A really striking and textured panoramic landscape in oil. The painting features areas of impasto (where the paint is thickly applied, creating a three dimensional effect) as well as sgraffito ( scratching through a surface to reveal a lower layer of a contrasting colour), creating a wonderful array of techniques and textures.

The female figure is well-composed and has an air of confidence. Her hair is styled in a bun, without a single strand out of place. At work, she is a woman of power, and she has just returned home after a long day of negotiating deals, wanting to unwind.
The viewer is unable to make eye contact, as she is faced away gazing to the distance, and appears to be caught up in her thoughts, and not wishing to be interrupted.
Her body recognises that it is time to unwind and leave one’s worries behind, as she is sat in a relaxed manner – with her slender legs stretched out, and her hands laid across the arm rests.
It is signed and dated 1943 to the lower left, and is complemented by its gilt frame.

Several boats of different kinds sit on the water, forming a very visually pleasing composition and creating a sense of depth within the picture. Also evident is the artist’s use of the impressionist skill of the spontaneous brushstroke, each brush mark visible and distinct. Bathers in art have been a long-standing tradition since the Renaissance, and this artwork in particular is reminiscent of the bathing scenes from Paul Cezanne.
The forms of the two nudes are bold and well emphasised, as their silhouettes have been outlined by thick black lines .The artist has used quick and short brushstrokes, as well as heavy impasto to create a sense of three dimensionality in this work. The orderly blocks of blue in differing shades in the background helps create the illusion of depth in this painting.

On this fine morning in Spring, a graceful pair of swans have just emerged from the nearby lake, and have come to the lawn to nibble on grass. With no one else in sight, they are roaming freely in the area, with not a worry in the world.
The artist has selected a beautiful naturalistic and earthy colour palette in this work; and has creatively dabbed a mix of clay, beige and sand colours to render the rough and granular nature of stone on the historical building.
He has also painted the grass in a similar fashion – using different shades of green and some hints of beige to highlight its dense appearance.
