A really gorgeous seascape featuring cerulean blue waters flanked by a pink cliff face. Several boats of different kinds sit on the water, forming a very visually pleasing composition and creating a sense of depth within the picture. A pastel and more mellow palette has been used for the boats, pier and cliff face, therefore drawing our initial attention and focus to the striking blue of the water. As we then allow our eyes  to survey the rest of the picture, details on the boats and surrounding seascape then begin to reveal themselves.

The oil painting, (dated 1942) is housed in its original gilt and black frame, with an inner linen-lined slip. Both frame and paintings are in very good vintage condition.
