A small and very pleasant modernist style still life oil composition dated 1969, and painted by the established Swedish artist Ture Fabiansson (1910-1994), whose works have been exhibited in public collections including the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, The Museum of Art in Gothenburg, Jönköping Museum, Borås Art Museum, and many others.
A luscious apple punctuates the center of the composition, set against a soothing backdrop blue and green shades.
The apple and its surroundings have been rendered with a combination of expressive and loose brushstrokes, and have been skillfully reduced to blocks of contrasting colours. This colour contrast wonderfully captures the soft curves of the apple and demonstrates a sense of depth and dimensionality to the paining. The overall muted colour palette imbues the work with a soothing quality.
This oil on canvas is housed in a simple wood frame. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.

A very elegant mid century modernist floral oil composition, painted onto canvas.
In this floral piece we have light pink tulips in a blue vase, painted in an expressionist style. Broad, gestural brushstrokes in a range of soft, pastel colours make up this composition. The flowers and vase is set against a background of light blue and pink, which transitions into a richer blue as we move down the canvas. There is a wonderful diaphanous quality to this painting which is really easy on the eye. Floral pieces like these have a timelessness to them which make them in an easy fit in many interior settings. The lightness to this one would certainly uplift the mood of a space.

A wonderful trio of modernist still life oils , each signed and dated 1969 by the established Swedish artist Ture Fabiansson (1910-1994), whose works have been exhibited in public collections including the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, The Museum of Art in Gothenburg, Jönköping Museum, Borås Art Museum, and many others.
In this set of 3 paintings, we have apples set against a classic blue and white stripe background. The pastel pinks, reds and yellows contrast against the blue and white beautifully. The softer, curved forms of the apples also juxtapose against the harder, angular lines of the stripes.
This trio can be arranged in any way you wish – vertically, horizontal, or in a random order. The set is very versatile and would look good in many spaces, including a kitchen setting or even a children’s bedroom.
Each oil is housed in a wooden frame. All 3 paintings and their frames are in good vintage condition.
