A brilliantly executed mid-century figurative composition painted in oil onto canvas, that beautifully captures the essence of modernist style.

The painting features three female figures, two seated and one standing, brought together in an intimate setting and appearing to be engaged in a conversation. Their facial features have been intentionally left out, and dressed in red and executed with graceful and fluid brushstrokes, the figures exude a certain allure and their colour choice adds a visually striking element to their composition.

The interior setting in the background has been rendered in a semi-abstract manner. Soft yellows and green dominate the palette, imbuing the composition with a tranquil and soothing quality. The artist’s deliberate departure from realism allows the viewers to focus on the emotional resonance of the scene rather that the specific details.

This oil on canvas is housed in a stunning wide-profiled cream wood frame. There are some areas of very light craquelure to the upper section of the painting, but the paint layer is stable and overall the appearance is very lovely. The frame is in very good vintage condition.
