A stunning mid 20th century artwork of nature at its finest, painted in 1951. A pair of horses graze on grass amongst a vast open meadow.
The soft yet precise brushstrokes and bright pastel colours create an air of peacefulness and serenity. Overall, the blocks of colours and brushstrokes in this work flow impeccably – leading our eyes gently from foreground to the background where the open sea and blue sky lie beyond in the horizon.
This oil on canvas is in very good vintage condition. There is a small surface scratch on the top edge of the frame which is only noticeable when viewed up close. The paintings is well presented in a complementary silver frame.

A really striking and textured panoramic landscape in oil. The painting features areas of impasto (where the paint is thickly applied, creating a three dimensional effect) as well as sgraffito ( scratching through a surface to reveal a lower layer of a contrasting colour), creating a wonderful array of techniques and textures.
The oil has been painted on wood, which has then been fixed to a wood backing which is ready to hang. The painting is in good vintage condition, with some paint losses to the outermost corners that do not detract from the painting.
