A small and very striking mid century modernist still life composition, executed in oil onto board.

In this simple yet effective composition, the artist draws our attention to a pot of bright yellow flowers in the centre of the painting, set against a darker coloured interior setting.

Painted in a modernist style, each form has been outlined with bold black outlines, emphasising each individual form as well as its three-dimensional quality. Deep, rich and vivid colours have been applied to the surface with broad and expressive brushstrokes, leaving a wonderful light textural and painterly effect to the painting.

This oil on board is housed in a complementary wood frame. Both painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
