A large and very well executed mid century interior scene, painted in oil onto board and dated 1959.

This painting depicts a rustic kitchen interior, centering around an old-fashioned wood-burning stove with a tall, curved chimney pipe. The artwork is executed in an impressionistic style, with thick, textured brushstrokes that emphasize form and light rather than precise detail.

It housed in a very well made mid century frame, with a wood outer border, a linen lined section and an inner gilt border. The painting is in excellent vintage condition. The frame has some marks to its linen border as shown in the close up photos.
