A soothing and well-executed modernist still life oil composition dated 1958, and painted by the established Swedish artist Ture Fabiansson (1910-1994), whose works have been exhibited in public collections including the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, The Museum of Art in Gothenburg, Jönköping Museum, Borås Art Museum, and many others.

The artist has taken a playful approach to this composition, flattening the depth and incorporating a multitude of angles, creating a cubist effect within the picture. The painting invites us to appreciate the interplay of colours and form. Painted in a modernist style and with gentle and precise brushstrokes, the artist has skilfully used contrasting soft muted shades and an effective colour gradient to demonstrate form and depth to the painting.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary slim light wood frame. Both the frame and painting are in excellent vintage condition.
