Pears & Lemons
SOLD.
A brilliantly executed mid-century still life oil composition painted in 1951 by the established Swedish artist Ture Fabiansson (1910-1994), whose works have been exhibited in public collections including the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, The Museum of Art in Gothenburg, Jönköping Museum, Borås Art Museum, and many others.
The composition centers around a group of fruits, mainly lemons and pears, placed amidst a serene backdrop.
The colour palette of the background predominantly consists of delicate shades of grey and blue, creating a tranquil and calm atmosphere. The subdued colours of the background serve as a gentle canvas upon which the fruits come to life, standing out with their rich and vibrant muted hues.
Although the painting maintains a semi-abstract style, the essence of the fruits is conveyed through expressive brushstrokes and careful consideration of their shapes and forms.
This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary slim wood frame. Both the frame and painting are in excellent vintage condition.
Size: 49 x 70 cm (including frame)
