Quiet Mooring

A calm mid-century coastal painting that captures a tranquil moment along the sunlit shores of Spain’s Costa Brava, executed in oil onto board and dated 1958.

At its centre rests a modest wooden boat, gently anchored in still, shallow waters, its form simplified yet full of quiet presence. The surrounding landscape is reduced to broad planes—suggesting sand, sea, and distant shoreline – imbuing the scene with a sense of calm, timeless pause.

Executed in a restrained modernist style, the composition leans into minimalism and balance.
