A bold and striking painted mid-century geometric abstract figurative composition, executed in oil.

This painting depicts a figure dressed in blue, lying sideways as he lounges on a sofa.

Containing elements of geometric abstraction, the artist has skilfully deconstructed this everyday scene down to blocks of geometric shapes as well as contrasting rich colours to create a sense of depth and space.

The silhouette of the figure as well as the sofa have been defined by black outlines as well as expressive brushstrokes, which further emphasises each individual form and elevates the painting’s overall uniqueness.

This oil on card is presented in  a card mount and slim wood frame, and is glazed (there is a layer of glass between the frame and the painting to ensure its longevity). The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has some scuffing present. Please note that there is some glare present in the photograph due to the glass.
