An emotive mid-century figurative portrait, executed in oil onto board.

A figure, positioned at the center of the composition, is depicted in a sitting pose with a slight slouch, conveying a sense of introspection or contemplation.

Using spontaneous and uninhibited brushstrokes, the artist has skilfully layered colours to reveal depth and interest. The use of a muted palette as well as darker shades of brown and black intensifies the somber mood of the piece.

The painting is housed in a wide-profiled wood frame with a distressed finish, which adds an additional layer of depth and character to the piece.

This oil on board is in very good vintage condition. The frame has some losses to the inner corners as shown in close-ups, with some light scuffing to its outer edges.
