An outstanding geometric abstract mid-century figurative composition, executed in oil onto canvas.

The painting presents a central figure, and it embodies the essence of a modernist aesthetic with its unique approach to depicting the human form.

Employing elements of geometric abstraction,  the artist has skilfully deconstructed the figure and the background, reducing it down into fragmented shapes. Although each block appears to be composed of a distinct hue, it is evident that the artist has layered contrasting colours in some of the blocks to reveal interest. The different shapes have been carefully juxtaposed against one another, creating a wonderful interplay of colours that heightens the visual impact of the composition, whilst inviting the viewer to contemplate the essence of the human form and the interplay between individual elements that comprise our identity.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary slim wood frame. Both the painting and frame have some very minor signs of ageing commensurate with age, and this does not detract from its overall attractiveness.
