A serene and atmospheric mid-century street scene composition, executed in oil onto canvas.

The painting depicts the silhouette of 2 figures walking side by side down a snow-covered road, surrounded by houses. A warm sun glows faintly in the hazy sky, hinting at either dawn or dusk. Bare trees with sparse orange leaves punctuate the composition, adding a touch of warmth to the otherwise cool palette.

The artist has used a  a painterly style with loose, expressive brushstrokes that emphasise atmosphere over fine detail. The colours are subdued, with a dominant mix of muted blues, greys, and earthy browns, contrasted by the cream sky and subtle pops of orange.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary frame with an inner linen border. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
