A group of men are depicted carrying bags of sand on their head, as they transport the goods from one end of a terrain to the next.
The artist has executed the work with gentle brushstrokes; and the selection of the neutral earthy colour palette consisting of green, purple blue and clay imbues the work with a subdued feel of lightness.
The painting is in good condition overall. There are tiny pin holes and losses to the edges on both sides of the painting (as depicted in the images), but in our opinion this does not detract from the work.
It is housed in a very complementary grainy wood frame that is in excellent vintage condition.

The colour palette used parallels the natural world, with a mix of neutral tones such as white, earthy orange, and variegated greens. What’s most striking is the use of the impasto technique – where the artist has confidently applied thick layers of paint on the canvas, giving it an outstanding three-dimensional appearance.
Although a restrained colour palette with a predominance of blue, green, and orange can be seen, the way that the artist has skilfully layered and blended the colours together so harmoniously is simply stunning.
Furthermore, there is a layer of varnish that coats the surface of the painting. This gives it a layer of shine, enhancing its aesthetic appeal, whilst acting as a layer of protection to the artwork.
