Puffer Fish

Free shipping to UK, Europe and Singapore.

A whimsical ceramic sculpture depicting a wide-eyed puffer fish, full of character and playful personality.

The fish takes on a delightfully rounded, almost spherical form, with a pair of exaggerated, protruding eyes, a small open mouth, and delicate fins extending from either side. A spiky dorsal fin crowns its head, adding to its quirky, expressive appearance.

Executed in a playful, naïve style, the sculpture embraces irregular forms and exaggerated features, lending it an endearing, almost cartoon-like quality.

The colour palette is warm and earthy, with a golden and sandy yellow body, complemented by touches of turquoise blue around the eyes and mouth. Subtle hints of brown, grey and muted purple accentuate the fins, creating a pleasing contrast against the warm tones of the body.

Hand-modelled in ceramic, the sculpture features a beautifully textured surface, with visible irregularities that celebrate its handmade character. The combination of sculpted details, applied decorative elements and glossy glazing creates a tactile, expressive finish.

This wonderfully characterful and lighthearted piece that would make a charming addition to a shelf, mantelpiece or curated collection of decorative ceramics.

The sculpture is in good vintage condition, with some light marks commensurate with its age.
