A wonderfully executed modernist figurative oil composition, signed and dated 1978 by the established Swedish artist Ture Fabiansson (1910-1994), whose works have been exhibited in public collections including the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, The Museum of Art in Gothenburg, Jönköping Museum, Borås Art Museum, and many others.

The painting encapsulates the essence of a modernist aesthetic, with a minimalist approach and focus on capturing the inherent beauty and simplicity of everyday moments.

Capturing a serene outdoor scene, a figure in a robe appears to have just come out of the river before him after having a swim. He stands in the foreground, towelling himself dry. Behind him, a loyal canine companion stands faithfully, providing a subtle touch of companionship and his presence enhances the feeling of comfort within the setting.

The background of the painting is adorned with blocks of light and gentle muted colours, predominately featuring shapes of orange and green. The blocks create an abstract representation of the surrounding environment, with the interplay of soft muted hues evoking a sense of tranquillity and balance.

This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary slim gilt frame. Both painting and frame are in execellent vintage condition.
