A large and very pleasant modernist abstract oil composition dated 1966, and painted by the established Swedish artist Ture Fabiansson (1910-1994), whose works have been exhibited in public collections including the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, The Museum of Art in Gothenburg, Jönköping Museum, Borås Art Museum, and many others.
The painting features bold organic forms in deep green, layered over a muted background of pale pink, earthy brown, and dark black with hints of blue. The composition suggests an abstracted representation of lush foliage. The forms are loosely defined, allowing the viewer to interpret the scene with a sense of fluidity.
The muted palette adds a soothing quality, softening the bold shapes and lending the piece a harmonious balance. The style is reminiscent of mid-century modern abstraction, with a focus on simplified shapes, strong colour contrasts, and a painterly approach. This large oil on canvas is housed in a complementary silver frame. The painting is in very good vintage condition. The is some very slight wear to the frame, but it is in good condition overall.
