A small but very sweet and charming mid century modernist landscape painting, executed in oil onto board.

This scenic and atmospheric landscape composition depicts a valley lined with trees and houses, and with rolling hills in the background. In the foreground, we can spot 2 figures strolling on a pathway located on the left side of the artwork.

Executed in an expressive manner and with a rich and earthy colour palette, energetic and rhythmic brushstrokes have been dabbed and swept across the painting with vigour, wonderfully capturing the delight and liveliness of nature. There is such a distinct sense of depth as well as a timelessness to this picturesque piece.

This oil on board is housed in a gilt frame with red undertones, that pairs perfectly with the painting.  Both artwork and frame are in excellent vintage condition. Please note that there is some glare evident in the photographs due to the varnish on the darker coloured areas of the painting.
