A timeless and elegant mid-century figurative painting, executed in oil onto canvas.

Simple yet effective in its composition, two women stand gracefully as they are adorned with white scarves over their heads and are each holding a white fabric or bag. One is dressed in a delicate pale coral pink dress, and its soft hues contrasts beautifully with the subdued blue attire of her companion, who is back-facing the viewer.

The use of a subtle muted palette as well as gentle brushstrokes wonderfully reflects the overall calm and tender mood of the setting.

This oil on canvas is housed in a ridged wood frame that suits the painting very well. There are some minor surface marks to the painting at the right edge, as shown in close ups, and the frame joins have widened slightly. Otherwise, both the painting and frame are in very good vintage condition.
