A rugged shoreline dominates the foreground, its cliffs rendered in deep charcoal, mauve, and sienna tones, leading the eye toward a serene inlet that reflects the muted sky above.
The brushwork is confident – swift, expressive strokes shape the rocky terrain, while smoother, more fluid strokes define the still water and clouded sky. The pale turquoise sea contrasts gently against the darker crags, suggesting the last light of day catching on the water’s surface.
The sky is softened by horizontal swathes of greys, pinks, and purples, evoking a moment just before dusk settles.
